      James E. Ronsick

      James E. Ronsick, 85, of Emporia, Kansas, died in Emporia on Wed. February 6, 2008. Funeral Services will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church, Emporia, Kansas on Saturday, February 9, 2008 at 10 a.m. Interment will be in the Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia, with Military graveside services by Ball-McColm Post #5
      American Legion and Lowry-Funston Post #1980, Veterans of Foreign Wars. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7-8 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia, which is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Messiah Lutheran Church, in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, P. O. Box 175, Emporia, Ks. 66801.

      Family dinner July 30 marks 60th wedding anniversary of Jim and Jo Ronsick years ago
      Jim and Jo Ronsick of Emporia celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary July 30 with a dinner hosted by their family.
      S/Sgt. James E. Ronsick and Norma J. Wilkerson were married Aug. 21, 1945, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Albuquerque, N.M.
      After his discharge from the Army Air Corps, the couple farmed in Allen County, near Humboldt.
      In 1949, they moved to a ranch in northwest Chase County in the Elk community and lived there for 41 years.
      They retired and moved to Emporia in 1990.
      Their children are Col. (ret.) Gene and Linda Ronsick and Dan and Barbara Sipes of Overland Park, and Dr. Ken and Virginia Taylor of Olathe.
      Grandchildren are Kraig and Dawn Taylor of Olathe, Eric Taylor of Denver, Colo., Matt and Laura Twyman of St. Louis, Mo., Kelly and Karen Taylor of Prairie Village, and Becky and Beth Sipes of Overland Park.
      The couple also has five great-grandchildren.

      Ronsick, James Edwin

      James Edwin Ronsick, of Emporia, 85, died Feb. 6, 2008, at Holiday Resort Care Center, Emporia.

      James Edwin, the son of Edwin J. and Lillie Fern Latham Ronsick, was born Feb. 4, 1923, at Iola.

      He married Norma J. Wilkerson at Albuquerque, N.M. on Aug. 21, 1945.

      He was a farmer/rancher in the Elk Community in northwest Chase County for 45 years, having retired 18 years ago. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Emporia, where he was an Elder and also at St. John�s Lutheran Church in Lincoinville. He also was a member of Lowry-Funston Post #1980, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Emporia; American Legion, Lincolnville; Disabled American Veterans; and the US Army Air Corps in WWII.

      He is survived by his wife of the home; a son, Gene Ronsick, Overland Park; two daughters, Virginia Taylor, Lenexa and Barbara Sipes, Overland Park; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Katherine May Ronsick and Betty Ann Kent; and a great-grandson.

      Services were held Saturday, Feb. 9, at Messiah Lutheran Church, Emporia with Norbet Tegtmeier of the church officiating. Military honors were by Ball-McCohn Post #5, American Legion Lowry-Funston Post #1980, Veterans of Foreign Wars. Burial was at Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia.

      Memorials may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, 605 State St., Emporia, KS 66801.
