    • For $20 a month, William and Nettie rented their house on a farm run by Mr. Cox (dad remembers that he only had one ear).

      Roy lied about his age to Nettie. He told her that he was a few years younger than he actually was because she said that she would not marry anyone who was more than 10 years older than her.

      Gramp was shot in leg when young and always limped after. He was really strong but always stooped over. Nobody would mess with him because he was so strong- he would lift heavy packs of newspapers all day everyday so his arms were really strong.
