Reuben, son of Job and Syvel Porter Gridley, was born 4/14/1770 and m. Mabel Loomis in Clinton, NY on 1/31/1790. They had a son Reuben b. 5/17/1802 in Clinton, Reuben, Sr. d. May 1841 and had as executor of his estate Orrin Gridley. Reuben's sons were Russel, James O, and Amos Porter. His daughters were Clarissa 1794, who m. Ralph Kellogg; Wanda, m. Elijah Wood and Fanny b. 1810 m. Chauncey Root (Will Book, 7, p. 98) The son of Reuben and Mabel =, Amost Porter Gridley was born in Clinton on 7/3/1807 and d. 1896. In 1887 at the Centennial of Clinton, NY it was noted that 16 Gridley families lived on one street in Cinton. Currenton Gridley's continue to live in Clinton/Kirkland, NY, A direct descendent of Job, Reuben, Reuben and Amost Porter Gridley; namely, Rev. Roswell Gridley Williams for many years was rector of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Watertown, NY is retired and now living in Clinton, NY.
