Notes - Isaac B. Friesen, Born In Russia, Lost His Parents When But A Child.He Came To America With His Brothers And 5 Sisters. After His Marriage They Settled Northwest Of Jansen,Jefferson County, Nebraska. He Followed The Carpenter Windmill Trade,Later Moving To Jansen Where He Entered The Coal And Lumber Business. Later He Became Prominent Horse And Mule Buyer And A Prosperous Farmer.They Retired In 1917,Moving To Fairbury, Nebraska. In The Summer Of 1928 Isaac B. Friesen Took Sick,Not Regaining His Strength. He Entered The Lutheran Hospital In Beatrice, Nebraska March 11, 1929 And Submitted To An Operation, On March 13, 1929. He Passed Away March 25, 1929. Mr. And Mrs. Had United With The Mennonite Church In 1887. His Funeral Services Were Held In The Fairbury Christian Chuch Conducted By Rev. Peter Steiner Of Lima, Ohio. Isaac B. Friesen Was Laid To Rest In The Jansen Cemetery.

Isaac Braun Friesen was born on Sep. 14th,1858 in Neukirch, Molotschnia, South Russia. He was the 7th child of Nichol "Klaas" and Margaretha Braun Friesen. His father was born at Schoenau, Molotschnia, South Russia on Feb.15,1818,his mother at Linenau, Molotschnia, South Russia on July 2nd, 1817. His siblings were Elizabeth 1840,Margaretha 1848,Abraham 1852,Helena 1854, Anna 1855,Klaus 1857, Maria 1861.Isaac's parents died when he was very young and never came to America.
Isaac immigrated on July 17th 1874 on the S.S. Hammonia.
He married Katherine Classen on Dec. 26th 1879 near Jansen Neb. in the presence of Jacob Klassen and Gerhard Rempel by the Rev. Abraham S. Friesen.
In Oct., 1887 Isaac and Katherine were accepted into the Reformed Mennonite Church, and a year later were baptized.
This union brought 10 children, Jacob 1881,Isaac 1882, Katie 1884, John 1885, Abraham 1887,Henry 1889,George 1891,
Katherine 1892, Frank 1894, Margaret 1900.
They lived near Jansen Neb. and were engaged in farming and raising horses. In 1917 they sold and moved to Fairbury Neb. and went into the Gasoline Oil Station business operating various stations in that community.
He died in a hospital in Beatrice Neb. on March 25th,1929 after a 3 month illness. Isaac had underwent a operation for a internal tumor and complications developed which resulted in his death. He was survived by his wife and nine of his children.
