Notes - John Alexander Holmberg passed away on Monday, May 10, 2010 at Desert Cove Nursing Center, Chandler, Arizona.
He was born in Finland on March 11, 1920 to Swedish parents and moved to Delmar, New York in 1929.
He was in the Air Force for four years, serving in England and France. In 1946 he located to Anchorage, Alaska and after 27 years, he retired from the National Bank of Alaska. He has lived in Sun Lakes, Arizona for 26 years.
John is survived by his wife of 51 years, Natalie; daughter, Anita Schebler (Steve); son, Neal Holmberg (Julie); and three granddaughters, Leah and Claren Schebler and Erika Holmberg.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 A.M. on Sat. May 15 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 739 W. Erie St. Chandler, AZ, with a visitation at 9:00 A.M. Burial will be in the City of Mesa Cemetery.
The family suggests donations to the Salvation Army or Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Endowment Fund.
