Notes - Chestley Julin McClellan, 76, of Halfway, Mo, went to meet His Lord and Savior on Friday, September 4, 2009 in his home. He was born July 15, 1933 in Champion Township to Albert Clark and Oma Anna Victoria (Hamilton) McClellan.
Chestley was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley; son, Kevin; sister, Jeanette Housley and brother, Chalmer.
Surviving him are his children, Linda Stone and her husband, Mike, Nixa, MO; Rick McClellan and his wife, Jo, Shawnee, KS; David McClellan and his wife, Lola, FL.; grandchildren, Chris; Melissa and her husband, Andrae’; Eric; Faith and her husband, Andy; Joanna and Dave Jaden; great-grandchildren, Freya and Merrick; brother, Elton McClellan and his wife, Vaudie; and sister, Etta Long. .
Chestley spent over 45 years working for Britton Construction Company which later became Stokes Construction. His work ethics were excellent and he enjoyed helping people. He was an avid gardener and grew champion vegetables. Chestley loved the outdoors including fishing and hunting. He was a dedicated father and very proud of his family. Chestley will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, September 8, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. in the Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte Chapel, 4500 S. Lone Pine, Springfield, MO. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. in the Chapel with Pastor Don Baier officiating. The interment will follow in Rivermonte Memorial Gardens.
