from THE CT NUTMEGGER, JUNE 1995 Vol. 26,p. 44: Some genealogists have Thomas married to a Hannah rather than to Elizabeth Clarke - he has a Thomas descendant who was married to Elizabeth Clarke.
 from THE CT. NUTMEGGER, VOL.28, P. 44. : In 1633 Thomas Gridley came on the ship GRIFFIN from Braintree, Essex, England to Dorchester in MA settled briefly at Cambridge and remained there until 1636 when he joined with the Rev. Thomas Hooker's company for a 100 mile exodus through the wilderness to found Hartford, CT. Thomas Gridley, however, was first identified as one ofthe Founders of Windsor, CT. Shortly thereafter in 1640 he became one of the proprietors of Hartford,CT and with his wife Mary Seymour, became the parents of Samuel and Thomas Gridley, who were the progenitors of two lines of Gridleys out of Farmington, CT. A cousin, Richard Gridley, is believed to have come with Thomas to America. (see Richard Gridley notes in Joan's folder). Richard remained in Boston and became the ancestor of who are know as "The MA Gridleys." Thomas Gridley was the ancestor of those who are known as "The CT Gridleys."
